CEI welcomes the adoption of the EMFA by the European Parliament

The Committee for Editorial Independence (CEI), which surveys media freedom attitudes in Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia each year, welcomed the passage of the European Media Freedom Act as a “crucial defence for media freedom in the EU”.

Its chair, Tessa Szyszkowitz, said “European media freedoms are facing unacceptable threats” warning there needed to be “immediate adoption of the Act into EU states’ legislation”.
