Report of the Committee on its activities from 1 Oct. 2022 to 31 Aug. 2023

The Committee for Editorial Independence has issued a summary report on its activities for the period from 1 October 2022 to 31 August 2023. During this period, the Committee did not find any case of affecting the editorial content of the titles published by the media house Economia by inappropriate interference by the shareholder. The Committee initiated the second year of the survey of public attitudes towards media independence in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The survey was conducted in cooperation with the Reporters Without Borders and supported by the Bakala Foundation. The poll’s results were presented at a press conference with a panel debate with journalists and experts  which took place at Gazeta Wyborcza‘s offices in Warsaw in April 2023. Leading European media and journalistic organizations reported on the survey.
